Gal Godot brings Wonder Woman to studio 8H as she hosts SNL with musical guest Sam Smith.

SNL is back!  Okay, SNL was back last week, but I was out of the country and still haven’t watched the copy of the Ryan Gosling episode I have saved on my DVR, so COOL IT.  I can’t tell any of the newbies apart, but Gal Godot was host and I thought she did pretty good.

What You Missed:

Cold Open: Jason Aldean

This was a nice way to pay tribute to both the massacre in Las Vegas and Tom Petty’s passing.

As it turns out, I have needed Leslie Jones in full Wonder Woman regalia for a long time.

E! Fall Lineup

“You’d watch that for 20 minutes! And that’s okay!”

Bumble Date

The slow reveal that this is OJ Simpson on a date is well executed

The Chosen One

Chad is the worst, y’all.

Safelite Auto Glass

I saw where this was going, but it did it so well, I didn’t even mind.

Weekend Update

  • “Learn karate, or use your words!”
  • I have missed Kate’s Ginsburns.
  • “She was best know for her catch phrase, ‘Stop calling me that.'”
  • Pete Davison on his depression and airtime is great.

The Maiden and the Mice

This is a great twist on Cinderella.  “It’s just…a lot” “WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?”

Espionage Signal Interference

Miss Vixen and Kate are wonderful.

A Wonder Woman sketch near the end of the show was going to get weird, and this is great.

The Naomi Show

Terrible teens! Aidy plays a great midwest mom, and this did not go where I expected it to.
