Fear not: giddily infectious tone and theme song still most definitely intact.
I have only watched one episode of season two of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, a show I know most if not all of us here at WEIO absolutely loved during its maiden run.1 Don’t know where the season is heading, can’t say if the wacky hijinks that lead to the opening flash forward will withstand scrutiny, but already I can tell I’m going to be grinning ear to ear once again. Hell, I knew it from the first strains of the theme song, when I started grinning ear to ear.
Seriously. Pavlovian reactions of joy are so effing rare these days; I can’t express what a delight it is to have this available to me. Titus is back, Lillian is back, a second-half-of-season 1 Dong is back, and Kimmy is still <why is there no emoji for Ellie Kemper’s exuberant joy?>.
More (much more) soon, but for right now, just smile:
- There may, in fact, have been a full reenactment of Daddy’s Boy in our offices. ↵
