It’s Halloween! Catch up on all of our favorite undead medical examiner’s doings this weekend.

It’s a simple tale, really. Girl goes to med school, girl meets boy who turns her into a zombie, girl becomes crime fighting brain eater in the Seattle medical examiner’s office.

Deliciously simple.

It’s easy to get into iZombie – shorter seasons, smaller cast, and an interesting, cohesive plot played out via the crime of the week procedural wrapper. This show does great previouslies. You could drop in on any episode and be well oriented before the (also helpful) opening credits.

But why deny yourself the fun? From top to bottom the cast knows how to keep a straight face in this comic book world1, and the scripts know when to wink at the same. There’s rarely a slow episode or uninteresting murder to solve, and when there is there’s always a good one liner or a better plot twist.

Plus, in episode 3 of this season, Stephen Weber gives an incredibly gifable reading of ‘Burn.’

If you thought about watching iZombie but didn’t have time for a full catch up, go straight to season 2 – all episodes to date are on CWtv or Hulu. For the completists, and those hunkered down avoiding the Halloween horde outside, you can catch all of season 1 on Netflix and Hulu Plus.

Eat up.

  1. Heads up – the series and the comics differ quite a bit in plot.
