
NBC kicked off the broadcast networks’ upfronts week by releasing its Fall 2014 schedule Sunday. What new shows will try to survive?
Mondays
- The Voice will continue to anchor the week from 8pm-10pm. Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will join Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the swivel chairs.
- The Blacklist will hold on to its 10pm slot for the first half of fall, going on hiatus after the November 10 episode and moving to Thursday night in February.
- New show State of Affairs will take over the 10pm slot on November 17. Katherine Heigl plays Charleston Tucker, a top CIA agent who reports directly to the President (Alfre Woodard). But wait! The President’s son, who was Tucker’s finacé, was killed in a terrorist attack, and unraveling the mystery will lead to some harsh truths.
Tuesdays
- The Voice hangs on to its 8pm slot.
- Casey Wilson and Ken Marino play a couple engaged to be engaged in the new comedy Marry Me, which takes the 9pm slot. It will be paired with the returning About a Boy.
- Chicago Fire will stay in the 10pm slot.
Wednesdays
- Debra Messing stars in The Mysteries of Laura, a light-hearted drama about a homicide detective balancing work and family. There might be tone problems, but we’ll see. The show will air at 8pm.
- The rest of Wednesday will be like this year: Law & Order: SVU at 9pm and Chicago PD at 10pm.
Thursdays
- The Biggest Loser will slide over to NBC’s beleaguered 8pm slot for the fall, replacing cancelled Community and benched Parks & Recreation.1
- New comedies will move into the 9pm hour. Bad Judge stars Kate Walsh as a judge who plays by her own rules. It is produced by Gary Sanchez (Will Ferrell and company’s production house). A to Z is an opposites attract romantic comedy about the Dharma (Zelda) and Greg (Andrew) of the millennials.
- Parenthood will hold on to its 10pm slot for its sixth season.
Friday
- Dateline NBC will start the night at 8pm, followed by Grimm at 9pm.
- Matt Ryan plays Constantine, a demon hunter adapted from the DC Comics series Hellblazer. The show will air at 10pm.
Saturday
- Reruns
Sunday
- Football Night in America / Sunday Night Football.
- Parks and Rec has been renewed, but no return date has been given yet. ↵
